Looking For A Previous Version Of ExpressPCB?
You can still download it at the bottom of this page — BUT FIRST — some context as to why it’s been moved from the homepage to this page.
Microsoft defines the shelf life of any and all products that run on their Windows OS systems and their underlying security frameworks.
With upcoming changes to Microsoft’s security frameworks, we’ve made the difficult decision to sunset all previous versions of ExpressPCB, including classic 7.9, by the end of 2023
- May 2023 end of software development
- January 2024 no longer available for download
- June 2024 end of software support
- Ordering/Fabrication for existing users will continue until Microsoft makes it unsuable
We repeat you will be able to design and order your boards through existing copies of our classic version 7.9 until Microsoft makes it unusable
We’ve been working behind the scenes with a few of our long-haul classic users to make this transition as easy and fruitful as possible. We’ve created a new video series to quickly aid in moving to our latest version of ExpressPCB, which we have lovingly nicknamed ExpressPCB Plus, in the long run. We’ve made adjustments to the user interface of our latest version, to make it more friendly and welcoming to users who preferred the simple GUI of classic 7.9.
We believe in straight-forward, accessible, and first-rate PCBs, and classic 7.9 was our flagship for serving you these valuables.
Like a fine wine that has been revered on the top shelf, it eventually needs to be opened and enjoyed, or it will spoil and never fulfill its purpose. Please, join us in the coming months in celebrating all these years with a true classic. The wine will be gone but “oh!” was it delicious! 🙂
